Balmain autumn/winter 2014

Dear readers, I’m far behind in my e-mail etc. and I kept this for last. And WOW what a show. Of cours I’ve seen bits and pieces but you’ve put the most extensive collection of photos together with wonderful details. I hope you love this!


The luxurious Paris location was thrown into a moody darkness for this collection which invoked a strong jungle and animalistic influence. Like pre fall, we were presented with a deep colour palette of khakis, navys and emerald greens but unlike pre fall we had them sit back against bursts of luminous tribal colours, yellows, oranges and even cobalt blues. The tribal influence was also at it’s strongest in accessories, with neck pieces, bangles and belts all pulling from tribal layered rope style jewellery.

The styling was typically Rousteing who loves a cinched waist and strong upper body silhouette, but as usual in an Balamin show, the technicality associated with the pieces was completely mind blowing. Intricate ropes wrapped the body while leather draped and also created safari-esq structure in vests, jackets and pocketed cargo pants.
