As I mentioned in my last post Another day at MBFWA, from 3 – 13 July the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was in Amsterdam to present the Spring/Summer 2016 collection of upcoming talents, designers and commercial labels and brands. I’ve widnessed the catwalk show of House of Byfield. I was pleasantly surprised by the fab colors, the incredible prints and the way Carmichael Byfield and his team presented the latest collection (which is already available in the store in Hoofddorp).
It isn’t exactly a personal top 10 as promised. therefore the title of this post is ‘My personal highlights’.
My numero ONO: Monique Collignon is BACK!
My number 2: Lichting 2015
Lichting 2015 supported by V&D is an initiative of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam and V&D (department store). Lighting has been created in 2007 with the aim to fill the gap between young talent and the fashion industry. Nowadays it has become the prize for young fashion talent. The organizing parties provide each an unique contribution with which the winning talent is insured to start a promising career.
I picked this design, not knowing that this was the winning design of the Talent Award Lichting 2015 by Nikkie Duijst. She was one of 14 students who graduated as fashion designer this year.
My number 3: Maria Clè Leal
My numer 4: House of Byfield (HOB)
Matching (men’s) fashion 1/2: House of Byfield (HOB)
My only top men’s fashion designer at the moment. HOP is specially for the contemporary fashionable man who want to stand out among the gray and dark suits. A man who wants to present elegantly refined and chic at the same time and dares to be different.”
Matching (men’s) fashion 2/2: House of Byfield (HOB)
My Facebook and Instagram friend Bonny Severijns (AenPmodels.com) in a House of Byfield (HOB).
Also: Army of Me
And: Army of Me
Not exactly a dress (I don’t know the designer consider this a dress) I would dream about, but hopefully a trend that more and more designers dare to experiment with fab prints and/or colors!
